About Dave
and
RE/MAX
Diversified Realty
I have been a licensed Realtor for 5 years,
2 of which have been in New York State and the other 3 in the State of
Florida. My listings and sales include residential, commercial,
recreation and investment properties. I started in Penn Yan with
Bucky Lake Real Estate and after about a year we joined the
RE/MAX
family and changed our name to
RE/MAX
Diversified Realty.
Recently we opened offices in Geneva and
Bath. These offices have people who specialize in computer
technology for the purpose of getting as much exposure as possible of
your listed property. We also have agents with decades of
experience with every kind of property and any problems or complications
which sometimes arise in the course of a sale.
I attended a 60 hours licensing course in Florida
with a test every 2 years and a 45 hour licensing course in New York State.
I also attend 22.5 hours of continuing education with ethics courses every 2
years, and some non-credit seminars from time to time.
I work with the other associates from our offices at
The Windmill Farm & Craft
Market about once a month during the season from late April to December, as
well as other events.
My wife, Carol, and I also have a small flowering
plant nursery on our
property and an antique
business with sales space rented at area shops.
My wife Carol and I moved from Yates County to Florida for several years and
returned to Yates County in 2006, as the Central
Finger Lakes Region seemed like
a better place to call home.
About the
Finger Lakes Region
Living in another area gives one something to measure our
Finger Lakes area
to. With the exception of some water front properties, single family homes
cost less to buy and in most cases the construction is more professional.
There is a less likely hood of stringent rules and regulations, uncaring inspectors,
impossible homeowners associations and slow moving bureaucrats here than in other areas of
the country.
We are in a scenic area with hills, lakes, well kept farm lands and
no large urban areas. The southern part of our region tends to
have higher hills with more wood land. We do not have a large
number of destructive hurricanes and tornadoes. It is not normal
to get the extreme temperatures of the south or the northern plains.
Most of the lake effect snow falls north and west of our area.
Serious crimes, traffic jams, slumlord districts and smokestack
industries are less in number in the Finger Lakes than in urban areas.
We have one large electric plant.
Penn Yan, the County Seat, has population of approximately 5,000
residence. The village and surrounding area have mostly smaller,
quiet, non-polluting businesses including several wineries and tourist
accommodations. There is no large industry to cause a boom and
bust cycle. Penn Yan is not a "Company Town", it is a peoples
town. |
